چکیده
The work presents an experimental and kinetic modeling study of laminar premixed formic acid [HC(O)OH]/H2/O2/Ar flames at different equivalence ratios (φ=0.85, 1.1 1.3) stabilized on a flat burner atmospheric pressure, as well flame speed HC(O)OH/O2/Ar (φ=0.5–1.5) 1 atm. Flame structure were simulated using three detailed chemical mechanisms proposed for oxidation. components in the fuel blends show consumption profiles, namely, hydrogen is consumed slower than acid. According to analysis, reason observed phenomenon that studied have but also intermediate product formed from HC(O)OH decomposition. Comparison measured shows all satisfactorily predict mole fraction profiles reactants, main products, intermediates. It noteworthy by Glarborg et al., Konnov al. updated AramcoMech2.0 adequately spatial variations fractions free radicals, such H, OH O HO2. However, some drawbacks used identified; particular, they concentrations CH2O. As simulations, mechanism predicts around two times higher values experiment, while good agreement with data.

Soot Formation in Laminar Premixed Ethylene/Air Flames at Atmospheric Pressure
Soot formation was studied within laminar premixed ethylene/air flames (C/O ratios of 0.78-0.98) stabilized on a flat-flame burner operating at atmospheric pressure. Measurements included soot volume fractions by both laser extinction and gravimetric methods, temperatures by multiline emission, soot structure by thermophoretic sampling and transmission electron microscopy, major gas species con...
متن کاملOptical Emission Tomography of Non-axisymmetric, Laminar, Premixed Flames
Optical emission tomography of flames has recently been demonstrated as a practical experimental technique for determining the instantaneous position of a 3D flame surface. In this paper, optical emission tomography is applied to steady and forced, non-axisymmetric, premixed, laminar flames. An experimental set-up involving a single camera and a rotatable flame holder allows camera images from ...
متن کاملChemically-Passive Suppression of Laminar Premixed Hydrogen Flames in Microgravity
Effects of chemically-passive fire suppressants on laminar premixed hydrogen flames were investigated by combined use of microgravity experiments and computations. The experiments used a short-drop free-fall laboratory facility that provides at least 450 ms of 2 10 g. Near -limit laminar burning velocities were measured for outwardly propagating spherical stoichiometric hydrogen-air flames with...
متن کاملThe Temperature and Pressure Dependencies of Propagation Characteristics for Premixed Laminar Ethanol-Air Flames
Laminar burning velocity is strongly dependent on mixture characteristics, e.g. initial temperature, pressure and equivalence ratio. In this work, spherically expanding laminar premixed flames, freely propagating from a spark ignition source in initially quiescent ethanol-air mixtures, have been imaged and then the laminar burning velocities were obtained at initial temperatures of 358 K to 500...

A detailed numerical study was conducted on the dynamics and thermal response of inert, spherical particles in strained, laminar, premixed hydrogen/air flames. The modeling included the solution of the steady conservation equations for both the gas and particle phases along and around the stagnation streamline of an opposed-jet configuration, and the use of detailed descriptions of chemical kin...
